    Governor Polis Provides Update on COVID-19, Announces new Primary Care Provider Vaccine Program & Testing Incentives for Students

    WESTMINSTER - Today, Governor Polis was flanked by pediatricians at Partners in Health Family Medicine in Westminster as he provided an update on the COVID-19 pandemic and announced the state’s new COVID-19 Primary Care Providers Grant and School Testing Initiative programs to make it easier for more Coloradans to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Governor Polis was joined by Dr. Aaron Shupp, Family Medicine Specialist with Rocky Mountain Primary Care, and Dr. Marc Moss, Head of Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine-Anschutz.

    Governor Polis Statement on Result of Grand Jury Investigation Regarding Elijah McClain’s Death

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis released the following statement following the announcement from Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser on the Grand Jury investigation into the death of Elijah McClain. Governor Polis designated AG Weiser as the State’s prosecutor to investigate Elijah McClain’s death by Executive Order in June 2020. The Grand Jury returned a 32 count criminal indictment against three Aurora officers and two paramedics.

    Inaugural Governor’s Plate Opens at Colorado State Fair

    PUEBLO -  Receiving the highest praise and the first-ever Governor’s Plate award, the Papa Mario’s Grilled Cheese Food Truck was crowned the winner at the Colorado State Fair’s inaugural Colorado-sourced food competition. The Governor’s Plate winner was the Panfili grilled cheese, prepared with ingredients from Colorado Proud producers, including Musso Farms and Springside Cheese.

    Milestone: Colorado Reaches 75% of Adult Coloradans Vaccinated with One Dose of Safe and Effective COVID-19 Vaccine

    DENVER -  Colorado achieved a historic milestone with 75% of Coloradans 18+ (3,381,447 people), and 73% of all eligible Coloradans (3,628,890 people ages 12+) vaccinated with at least one dose of the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. For the past week, the state has averaged 4,314 vaccinations per day among those ages 12+. More than 55% of Coloradans ages 12-17 (247,443 people) have received at least one dose, and there are 3,306,227 Coloradans who are fully immunized.

    Gov. Polis Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Colorado Governor Lamm

    DENVER - Governor Jared Polis ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff on all public buildings from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, to honor the passing of former Colorado Governor Richard Lamm. A memorial service is scheduled for Governor Lamm on August 31, 2021.

    Gov. Polis Calls on Congress to Enact Banking & Tax Measures as Federal Government Looks to Legalize Cannabis

    DENVER -  Governor Polis sent a letter to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Senators Cory Booker and Ron Wyden urging Congress to immediately take up legislation to enact tax and banking measures for the marijuana industry as the U.S. government looks to legalize cannabis federally. Specifically, Governor Polis called on Congress to pass the SAFE Banking Act that would allow financial institutions to serve cannabis businesses.
