Governor Polis, Denver Zoo, 9Health:365 Host Free COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for Kids at the Zoo
DENVER — Today, Governor Polis and Denver Zoo partnered to host a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Zoo for kids ages 5 and up. Governor Polis met with kids getting the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and also met with those who received their COVID-19 booster shots (Pfizer and Moderna) as well as flu shots at the event.
“For months, I’ve looked forward to the day when our youngest Coloradans could have access to the lifesaving, free, and effective COVID-19 vaccine. And now to get to see this finally in action at the Zoo is amazing,” said Governor Polis. “ I applaud each and every child ages 5 to 11 who rolled up their sleeves to get the COVID-19 vaccine and I thank every parent and caregiver who made that possible for their children. Today was special for the First Gentleman and me as our two children got their shots. Now we can rest assured that they are protected. I urge all parents and all of our youngest Coloradans to get the COVID-19 vaccine, as the science and data show it's completely safe and highly effective.”
Children vaccinated at the event received free same-day admission to Denver Zoo for themselves and their parents and/or caretakers or a voucher to visit the Zoo another day. Animal Ambassadors from the Zoo also made appearances throughout the day.
