DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and fellow Governors called upon Congressional Leaders and the Biden Administration to come together to reach a border security deal that will support states, like Colorado, seeing an influx of new arrivals.

DENVER - Today, in a letter to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel, Governor Polis, joined fellow governors in urging the commissioner to provide guidance on the taxability of Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) benefits, and also encouraged the IRS to prevent double taxation. The Governor was joined by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, and Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

DENVER – Today, Governor Polis and The Colorado Department of Higher Education celebrated the first 300 graduates who received diplomas through the Colorado Re-Engaged (CORE) Initiative on December 5, 2023. Created on June 29, 2021, when Governor Polis signed bipartisan House Bill 21-1330, High Education Student Success, sponsored by Representatives Julie McCluskie, and Naquetta Ricks, and Senators Rachel Zenzinger and Barbara Kirkmeyer, CORE enables four-year higher education institutions in Colorado to award associate degrees to students who stepped away before earning a bachelor’s degree after earning at least 70 credit hours.

Pitkin County - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced a first-of-its-kind partnership between X Games and the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Bustang to provide a sustainable and low-cost travel option for fans traveling to the X Games in Aspen from Friday, January 26 to Sunday, January 28.

GREELEY – Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Toro, a leading worldwide provider of innovative solutions for the outdoor environment, has selected the Town of Frederick in Weld County, Colorado for relocation. DENVER - On January 18th, Connect for Health Colorado announced the enrollment figures from the open enrollment period for 2024 health insurance coverage. And a record number of people enrolled in Colorado Option plans again for 2024.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Higher Education announced that 2023 Colorado Free Application Days saved students $2.8 Million dollars in college application fees, or between $50-80 per application, which could be hundreds in savings for students who apply to multiple schools. Colorado students submitted nearly 65,000 college and university admissions applications during the sixth annual statewide initiative, which took place from Tuesday, Oct. 17 through Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023. This year Governor Polis announced Colorado Free Application Days via video.

DENVER - The Colorado Disability Funding Committee is thrilled to partner with the Western Stock Show Association and Colorado Auctioneers Foundation to auction the rights to use 13 unique Colorado license plate configurations. Proceeds from the auction will fund grants for new and innovative ideas that improve the quality of life and independence of people with disabilities, and contribute to the National Western Stock Show Scholarship Trust.

FORT COLLINS — Today, Lieutenant Governor Primavera visited Coyote Ridge Elementary School to highlight the recent success of the Reading Corps program that Colorado AmeriCorps members are currently leading in 66 schools across the state. This includes routine one on one or small group tutoring sessions for students to help them achieve grade-level reading. Colorado’s AmeriCorps programming is led by Serve Colorado, which is part of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and the Reading Corps service program is carried out by Colorado Youth for a Change.
