DENVER – Today, Gov. Jared Polis hosted a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, at the Governor’s Mansion. Gov. Polis and Ambassador Moctezuma discussed the economic ties and cultural connections between Colorado and Mexico as the United States and Mexico are celebrating 200 years of official diplomatic relations. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis took executive action to memorialize his verbal disaster declaration from July 5, 2024, in response to an avian flu outbreak in Weld County. This declaration activated the State Emergency Operations Plan and directed the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to take all necessary and appropriate State actions to assist with response, recovery, and mitigation efforts.

DENVER - Today, Colorado Governor Jared Polis sent a letter congratulating Venezuela’s President-elect Edmundo González on his victory in the election after Secretary of State Antony Blinken recognized González as the candidate who received the most votes. Earlier this week, the Governor released a statement recognizing the overwhelming evidence of González’s victory, and commending the millions of Venezuelans who made their voices heard in the election. 

DENVER - Today to Celebrate Colorado, Governor Polis welcomed visitors to the Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance and visited local, small businesses to highlight the important role they play in driving Colorado’s economy.
