    Governor Polis, State Legislators & Educators Celebrate Historic Education Funding

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis, Speaker Julie McCluskie, Senate President Steve Fenberg, Representatives Jennifer Bacon and Barbara McLachlan, and Senators Rachel Zenzinger and Janet Buckner, joined educators and students to celebrate this year’s historic proposal to fully fund Colorado schools and eliminate the Budget Stabilization Factor. In November 2023, Governor Polis unveiled a budget that fully funds Colorado schools for the first time since 2009, providing teachers with the resources they need to ensure student success.

    Growing Colorado’s Aerospace and Defense Industry: Polis Administration Secures Cyber Security Leader for Expansion in Colorado Springs

    COLORADO SPRINGS – Governor Polis and the Global Business Development Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Invictus International Consulting, a Veteran-owned cybersecurity and technology integrator, has selected Colorado Springs for expansion. Invictus will provide cybersecurity and Internet Service Provider (ISP) engineering and operations support for government agencies, defense organizations, and private sector clients.

    Governor Polis Takes Action to Provide Election Security

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order to activate the Colorado National Guard to assist with Election Cybersecurity Defense efforts. This Executive Order activates no less than six and up to nine members of the Colorado National Guard Cyber Operations Element to provide election cybersecurity defense assistance during the 2024 Presidential Primary Election beginning February 27, 2024, for up to thirty days.

    COMING SOON: 2024-25 Universal Preschool Enrollment

    DENVER — Family registration for the 2024-25 Colorado Universal Preschool Program opens on February 29th, 2024. All children in Colorado can register for up to 15 hours per week of funding for high-quality preschool in their year before kindergarten, and many may be eligible for additional hours based on qualifying factors.

    Governor Polis Hands Out Dolly Parton Imagination Library’s One-Millionth Book in Colorado, Signs New Law

    DENVER - Today Governor Polis, joined by Representative Emily Sirota, Senator Jeff Bridges, and Imagination Library CEO Jack Tate, handed out the one-millionth book from Dolly Parton’s Colorado Imagination Library. Launched by Dolly in 1995 and expanded to Colorado in 2020, this universal book-gifting program was created to inspire a love of reading by gifting books to children (0- 5 yrs. old), free of charge through funding shared by local community partners.

    Governor Polis, OEDIT Announce 180 Small Business Accelerated Growth Program Grants

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade’s (OEDIT) Business Support division announced 180 Small Business Accelerated Growth Programs grants to support small businesses in Colorado. Consisting of 113 Access to Capital grants and 67 digital marketing grants, these $5,000 awards will help small business owners across the state secure financing to grow their businesses. They will also help businesses establish an online presence, utilize website best practices, and focus on social media to reach more customers.

    Saving People Money on Healthcare: Polis-Primavera Administration Submits Updated Canadian Drug Importation Plan to the FDA

    DENVER - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) announced the submission of Colorado’s amended application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Biden Administration to import lower-cost prescription drugs from Canada. The submission is an amendment to the initial application submitted on Dec. 5, 2022. With this step forward, Colorado is closer to federal approval to operate Colorado’s Canadian Drug Importation Program. If the FDA approves, Colorado can start the process of bringing lower-cost prescription drugs into the state so more Coloradans can afford the medication they need to thrive.

    What They’re Saying: Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap 2.0

    WESTMINSTER - Today, the Polis administration released an updated Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction Roadmap 2.0. This important plan lays out a set of near-term actions to reduce emissions across economic sectors and create key new pathways to assist in reaching Gov. Polis’ ambitious goals of cutting greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution in half by 2030, and moving toward net-zero GHG pollution in Colorado by 2050.
