Governor Polis Signs Bills Into Law

DENVER - Today Governor Polis signed the following bipartisan bills into law during a ceremony in the Governor’s Office. 

  • HB24-1139 - Death Benefit for State Employee Surviving Spouse, sponsored by Representatives Sheila Lieder and Ryan Armagost, and Senators Perry Will and Tony Exum

  • HB24-1067 - Ballot Access For Candidates With Disabilities, sponsored by Representative David Ortiz and Senators Faith Winter and Larry Liston

  • SB24-071 - Seasonal Outdoor Adventure Day Camp Program, sponsored by Senate President Steve Fenberg, Senator Janice Rich, and Representatives Judy Amabile and Matt Soper. Governor Polis released the following statement upon signing the bill.

“The Colorado way of life is deeply rooted in enjoying the great outdoors. We are ensuring that more Colorado kids have access to high-quality outdoor day camps that are fun, educational, and allow kids to explore nature while building friendships. I am happy to sign this bill to ensure kids continue to have opportunities early to fall in love with the outdoors,” said Governor Jared Polis upon signing the bipartisan SB24-071, Seasonal Outdoor Adventure Day Camp Program.  

 

Governor Polis signed the following bills into law administratively:

  • HB24-1013 - Victim Programs in New Twenty-Third Judicial District, sponsored by Representatives Anthony Hartsook and Meghan Lukens and Senators Rod Pelton and Jeff Bridges. This bill was passed with bipartisan support. 

  • HB24-1035 - Modernize Health Benefit Exchange Governance, sponsored by Andrew Bosenecker and Iman Jodeh, and Senators Sonya Jaquez Lewis and Perry Will. This bill was passed with bipartisan support.

  • HB24-1041 - Streamline Filing Sales And Use Tax Returns, sponsored by Representatives Cathy Kipp and Rick Taggart, and Senators Jeff Bridges and Kevin Van Winkle. This bill was passed with bipartisan support.

  • HB24-1086 - Operation of Denver Health and Hospital Authority, sponsored by Representatives Richard Holtorf and Judy Amabile, and Senator Dafna Michaelson Jenet. This bill was passed with bipartisan support.

  • HB24-1103 - Prohibiting Term Excited Delirium, sponsored by Representatives Judy Amabile and Leslie Herod, and Senators Julie Gonzales.

  • HB24-1155 - Management of Certain Public Safety Emergencies, sponsored by Representative Elizabeth Velasco and Senator Lisa Cutter

  • SB24-017 - Distribution of State Share of District Total Program, sponsored by Senators Paul Lundeen and Jeff Bridges, and Representatives Barbara McLachlan and Rose Pugliese. This bill was passed with bipartisan support.

  • SB24-074 - Jurisdiction over United States Military Property, sponsored by Senator Bob Gardner and Representatives Mike Weissman and Matt Soper. This bill was passed with bipartisan support. 

  • SB24-079 - Motorcycle Lane Filtering & Passing, sponsored by Senator Nick Hinrichsen and Jim Smallwood, and Representatives Javier Mabrey and Ron Weinberg. This bill was passed with bipartisan support.

  • SB24-093 - Continuity of Health-Care Coverage Change, sponsored by Senator Dafna Michaelson Janet and Representative Judy Amabile

  • SB24-105 - Clarifying Environmental Response Surcharge, sponsored by Nick Hinrichsen and Representatives Elisabeth Epps and Barbara McLachlan
