Governor Polis Signs Bills into Law

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed the following bills into law. 

  • SB24-031 - Local Authority Enforce Violation of Noxious Weed Act, sponsored by Senator Dylan Roberts and Representatives Meghan Lukens and Barbara McLachlan. 

  • SB24-045 - Modifications to Sterilization Requirements for Cats & Dogs, sponsored by Senator Larry Liston and Representatives Manny Rutinel and Rick Taggart. 

  • SB24-157 - Colorado Open Meetings Law for the General Assembly, sponsored by Senate President Steve Fenberg, House Speaker Julie McCluskie, and Representative Chris deGruy Kennedy. 

  • HB24-1091 - Fire-Hardened Building Materials in Real Property, sponsored by Representatives Kyle Brown and Brianna Titone, and Senators Lisa Cutter and Sonya Jacquez Lewis. 

 

On HB24-1091:

“I am thrilled to sign this new law to  ensure  HOAs cannot prevent the use of fire resistant materials in construction. Homeowners should be empowered to choose less flammable materials to safeguard their homes and save money on insurance, and now more homeowners will be able to better protect their home,” Governor Polis said.
