DENVER - Today, Governor Polis signed an Executive Order to memorialize Lt. Governor Primavera's verbal disaster declaration for the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in Weld County.
The Executive Order memorializes the Lt. Governor’s verbal disaster declaration from January 29, 2026. The disaster declaration was made in coordination with Governor Polis. This action enabled State agencies to support our agriculture sector by coordinating for monitoring and mitigation of disease spread, response, consequence management, and recovery efforts.
