Federal  Inflation Reduction Act Leading to Savings and Climate Action

AURORA - Today, Governor Polis and the Colorado Energy Office (CEO), joined Rewiring America and Google.org to launch the Colorado Electrification Calculator. This tool will connect Coloradans with discounts on electric appliances such as heat pumps, electric vehicles, electric panel upgrades and more, saving them money. The announcement was made at the Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC facility in Aurora, which trains technicians to install and repair heat pump technology.

“With this new tool, Coloradans can easily access discounts on heat pumps, electric vehicles, solar power and more. These clean energy upgrades save Coloradans money, potentially thousands of dollars, and will help Colorado achieve our climate goals to help future generations,” said Governor Polis.

In February, Governor Polis announced new tax credits available to assist Coloradans who are installing eligible heat pump technology for space heating and cooling, and water heating. In partnership with the legislature, Governor Polis established the heat pump tax credit along with several other clean energy tax credits by signing HB23-1272, "Tax Policy that Advances Decarbonization" sponsored by Representatives Mike Weissman and Junie Joseph, and Senators Steve Fenberg and Lisa Cutter.
