DENVER - This week, Governor Polis will attend the annual Winter Meeting of the National Governors Association to meet with fellow Governors on the important issues impacting states across the nation and collaborate to solve problems.
“These meetings provide Governors with an important place to discuss the challenges our states face, work toward solutions, and advocate for our states with the federal government. I always work with anyone to deliver for Colorado and make our state a better place. I find that Republican and Democratic Governors across the country face the same issues, and we learn from one another what works and what doesn’t work to improve our schools, our roads, and our economy. This meeting is a great opportunity for productive conversations with my fellow Governors to work more closely together,” said Colorado Governor Jared Polis.
Governor Polis served as the Chair of the National Governors Association in 2024-25 and his chair initiative, “Let’s Get Ready: Educating All Americans For Success” focused on ensuring students get the skills and training needed in school to get good-paying jobs. The Governor’s Let’s Get Ready initiative Report provided Governors across the country with a roadmap outlining policies to help states ensure student success. The Governor’s Let's Get Ready Initiative is now in action, with Colorado and 6 other states participating in a policy academy through the National Governors Association to track their student outcomes in real time through new readiness dashboards. Governor Polis is a current member of the Executive Board of the National Governors Association.
While in DC, Governor Polis will meet with other Governors, participate in and lead policy discussions, and more.
