Gov. Polis Appoints Denver Juvenile Court Judge

DENVER — Gov. Jared Polis today announced the appointment of Pax Moultrie as a judge on the Denver Juvenile Court. Her appointment is occasioned by the retirement of the Honorable Donna Schmalberger.

Moultrie is currently a magistrate for the First Judicial District in Jefferson County, a position she has held since 2018. Her practice includes presiding over domestic relations matters as well as dependency and neglect matters. Previously, she was an Assistant County Attorney in the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office (2008-2011) and Assistant County Attorney in the Arapahoe County Attorney’s Office (2011-2018). Moultrie earned her B.A. from Washington University in 2001 and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006.

The appointment is effective April 4, 2020.
