Colorado’s Unemployment Rate Below 3% Over 11 Months

DENVER - Colorado Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment announced today that the state’s unemployment rate has fallen again to 2.8%.

“Colorado’s strong economy continues to grow faster than other states, more women are returning to the workforce, and our unemployment rate remains significantly lower than the national average. In partnership with the legislature, we are saving Coloradans money and ensuring everyone can get the skills and training they need to fill in-demand jobs, earning a good living and meeting workforce needs now and for the future,” said Gov. Polis.

March marks the eleventh consecutive month where Colorado’s unemployment rate remains below 3%.  Colorado’s recent economic forecast conducted by the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budget which shows Colorado’s strong economy continues to grow faster than other states in the United States.

Within the past month, Governor Polis and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade announced that businesses are expanding their presence in Colorado. Also this month, Governor Polis, Lt. Governor Primavera, and members of the state legislature held a discussion with First Lady Jill Biden on Colorado’s nation-leading work in connecting Coloradans with in-demand jobs.
