EDWARDS — Today, Governor Jared Polis highlighted the Polis administration’s vision for affordable and reliable housing during visits to Vail, Avon, and Edwards. The Governor was joined by local officials to discuss transformative opportunities to leverage state stimulus and federal American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) dollars to meet Colorado’s housing needs, make housing more affordable in mountain communities and across the state, and ensure Coloradans can thrive.

“I was excited to be back in Eagle County today to see the innovative spirit of Coloradans on display and was inspired by the community's shared commitment to provide more access to housing and child care and support for small businesses,” said Governor Polis. “Our administration will continue to leverage transformative state and federal funds into real solutions that save people money on everyday items and health care, spur workforce development and give local governments and organizations tools and resources that can help our communities.”

This afternoon, Governor Polis visited the Residences at Main Vail, an affordable housing facility, and visited My Future Pathways, a nationally recognized organization providing scholarship, life coaching, mentoring, and personalized attention for foster youth and first-generation students.

Later this afternoon in Eagle County, Governor Polis visited Miller Ranch, an affordable workforce housing development in Eagle County, and signed into law  HB22-1117 Use of Local Lodging Tax Revenue to help local governments address housing, childcare, and other needs in communities and promote tourism. This new bipartisan law was sponsored by Rep. Dylan Roberts, Rep. Marc Catlin, Sen. Kerry Donovan and Sen. Don Coram.

The Polis Administration has taken bold steps to save Coloradans money and provide real solutions to meet Colorado’s housing needs and to increase housing supply across the entire continuum of housing development, while ensuring the investment of new resources supports local needs ranging from housing to childcare, and spurs workforce development opportunities.
