Friday, January 12, 2024

DENVER - Yesterday, Governor Polis delivered his 2024 State of the State Address to the Colorado General Assembly, outlining his goals and focuses for the upcoming year.

Here is what members of Colorado's congressional delegation are saying:

“Under Governor Polis, Colorado has led our country's transition to a clean energy economy, attracted jobs and investments as one of the top places to do business, and codified access to essential health care. I look forward to continuing to work with his administration to expand affordable housing options, combat climate change, and ensure every student can access a high-quality education,” said U.S. Senator Michael Bennet.

“Governor Polis has worked to future-proof Colorado’s successes – and Coloradans are already seeing the results. We’ve cut health care costs, invested in our aging infrastructure, and attracted billions for emerging technologies and workforce development,” said U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper.

“From fighting for a fair tax code to enacting commonsense gun safety measures to building housing that’s affordable, Governor Polis worked to deliver for Coloradans this year,” said Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06). “I’m excited to continue working with the Governor to combat climate change, lower costs, and empower Coloradans.”

“I’m deeply hopeful about the future of our great state, and am proud to continue to partner with Governor Polis in our efforts to deliver real results for Coloradans—from mitigating the risk of wildfires and helping communities recover after disaster to fostering innovation taking place at our state’s higher education institutions. As we enter 2024, our work continues, and I look forward to building on our progress to meet the needs of families and individuals across Colorado,” said Congressman Joe Neguse.

“In many ways, our state is growing with several projects and investments highlighting the many virtues of Colorado. But we are also facing unique issues and challenges. On behalf of working families from Colorado, I’m eager to work with Governor Polis on lowering costs, addressing public safety, and strengthening our local economy,” said Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo.

“Governor Polis gave us a bright vision for the future of our state, and he’s the right leader to deliver it,” said U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen. “I’m excited to partner with him to achieve the goals he outlined in his State of the State, alongside all the dedicated leaders serving Colorado at every level. If we come together and roll up our sleeves we can address our housing challenges, improve transit for everyone, and make Colorado an even better and safer place to live.”
