Governor Polis Appoints Pax L. Moultrie and Grant T. Sullivan to the Colorado Court of Appeals

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis made two appointments to fill vacancies on the Colorado Court of Appeals. 

 

Governor Polis appointed Pax L. Moultrie to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable David Furman, which is effective January 1, 2024. 

 

Ms. Moultrie is a District Court Judge in the 2nd Judicial District, a position she has held since 2020. Her docket consists of juvenile matters. Previously, Ms. Moultrie was Magistrate in the First Judicial District in Jefferson County (2018-2020); Assistant County Attorney in the Arapahoe County Attorney’s Office (2011-2018); and Assistant County Attorney in the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office (2008-2011). Ms. Moultrie earned her B.A. from Washington University in 2001 and her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006.

 

Governor Polis appointed Grant T. Sullivan to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable John Daniel Dailey, which is effective January 1, 2024.

 

Mr. Sullivan is an Assistant Solicitor General and Senior Assistant Attorney General II with the Public Officials Unit of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, positions he has held since 2012 and 2018, respectively. His practice consists of trial and appellate litigation on behalf of the State of Colorado. Previously, Mr. Sullivan was Assistant Attorney General for the Attorney General’s Office (2011-2018); Law Clerk for Justice Nathan Coats on the Colorado Supreme Court (2010-2011); Associate at McElroy Deutsch Mulvaney & Carpenter (2009-2010); and Law Clerk for Judge John Webb on the Colorado Court of Appeals (2008-2009). Mr. Sullivan earned his B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2008.
