Governor Polis Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

Child Support Commission

The Child Support Commission reviews the child support guidelines and is required to issue a report every four years to the Governor and the General Assembly of the results of the review of child support guidelines and any recommended statutory changes.

  • Candy Granger of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to serve as a parent representative, appointed;

Colorado Channel Authority Board of Directors

The Authority shall televise the proceedings of the Colorado House of Representatives and Senate and such other programming of a state governmental nature as the board may approve.

Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deafblind

The Commission shall serve as a liaison between the Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deafblind community and the general assembly, Governor, and Colorado departments and agencies.  The Commission shall also assess the needs of the deaf, hard of hearing, and deafblind community and recommend to the general assembly any legislation that may facilitate and streamline the provision of general governmental services to the deaf, hard of hearing, and Deafblind community.

  • Robin Bradshaw of Littleton, Colorado, to serve as a parent to a Deaf or hard of hearing person, occasioned by the resignation of Christine Pendley of Arvada, Colorado, appointed.


 

Conservation Easement Oversight Commission

The Conservation Easement Oversight Commission shall advise and make recommendations to the Director of the Division regarding the certification of conservation easement holders.

Executive Clemency Advisory Board

The Executive Clemency Advisory Board is to make advisory recommendations for executive clemency to the Governor.  This includes advising the Governor on the screening of applications for persons who are requesting or petitioning the Governor for commutation of sentence or pardon.

FAIR Plan Association Board of Directors

The Board of Directors shall establish the FAIR Plan. The FAIR Plan Association is established to provide property insurance coverage, including commercial property insurance when such coverage is not available from admitted companies. The FAIR Plan Association shall establish, offer, and maintain property insurance and a commercial property insurance policy.

Hospital Facility Fee Steering Committee

The Steering Committee shall facilitate the development of a report detailing the impact of outpatient facility fees on the Colorado healthcare system, including the impact on consumers, employers, healthcare providers, and hospitals. The Committee shall work with independent third parties to conduct related research and analysis necessary to identify and evaluate the impact of outpatient facility fees.

Justice Assistance Grant Board

The Justice Assistance Grant Board advises the Division of Criminal Justice on issues related to federal block grant monies designated to improve the criminal justice system and reduce drug abuse and violent crimes.

Metropolitan District Homeowners’ Rights Task Force

The Task Force studies issues confronting communities that are governed by the board of a metropolitan district. The Task Force examines issues confronting metropolitan district homeowners’ rights, including the following authority and practices of metropolitan district boards: tax levying authority and practices, foreclosure practices, communications with homeowners regarding metropolitan district processes and homeowners’ rights and responsibilities; and governance policies, including voting and election policies. The Tax Force shall also examine the process by which a metropolitan district could transition from a metropolitan district that enforces covenants and collects assessments into a common interest community governed under Article 33.3 of Title 38.

Mined Land Reclamation Board

The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board establishes the regulations, standards and policies that guide the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety.

Pinnacol Assurance Board of Directors

The Pinnacol Assurance Board of Directors promulgates rules and regulations pertaining to the operation and administration of the Colorado Pinnacol Assurance Fund.

State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education

The State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education is the governing body for the state community college system and the coordinating board for local district colleges.  It also coordinates the activities of area vocational schools.

Task Force on the Rights of Coloradans with Disabilities

The Task Force on the Rights of Coloradans with Disabilities brings together appropriate stakeholders, experts and impacted groups to study and make recommendations concerning issues related to persons with disabilities.

 

Subcommittee on Physical and Programmatic Basic Access Within State and Local Government for Persons with Disabilities

The purpose of the Government Access Subcommittee is to study and make recommendations on issues to ensure people with disabilities have access to the services they need, are able to effectively participate in public discussions, are able to be employed by governmental agencies, and can run for and effectively serve in elected positions.
