Governor Polis Takes Action to Support Recovery Efforts Following Severe Weather & Flooding

DENVER- Today, Governor Polis issued an Executive Order declaring a disaster emergency in Baca, Jefferson, Kiowa, Prowers, and Teller Counties following severe weather and flooding in June 2023. The action enables state and federal agencies to coordinate response and recovery efforts and seek eligibility for federal funding for these counties. 

This action follows a previous Executive Order issued by the Governor in response to the June 2023 extreme weather and flooding that allocated funding and enabled state and federal agencies to coordinate recovery efforts. The five counties listed in today’s action will now be able to receive funding from Executive Order D 2023 011 to support recovery efforts.
