Gov. Polis Takes Action on Bills

DENVER- Today, Governor Polis signed bills into law and vetoed legislation. Governor Polis signed legislation today in Colorado Springs Centennial, Alamosa, and Salida to fill high-demand jobs, save Coloradans money on training & education, and strengthen Colorado’s robust workforce. 

In Centennial, Governor Polis signed the following bills into law in ceremony:

  • HB23-1212 Promotion Of Apprenticeships - Representatives Eliza Hamrick and Sheila Lieder, Senators Chris Kolker and Jessie Danielson

  • HB23-1074 Study Workforce Transitions To Other Industries - Representatives Ruby Dickson and Judy Amabile, Senator Janice Marchman

In Colorado Springs, Governor Polis signed the following bills into law in ceremony:

  • SB23-065 Career Development Success Program - Senators Paul Lundeen and Jeff Bridges, Representatives Shannon Bird and Don Wilson

In Salida, Governor Polis signed the following bills into law in ceremony:

  • HB23-1246 Support In-demand Career Workforce - Speaker Julie McCluskie and Representative Rose Pugliese, Senators Janet Buckner and Perry Will

In Alamosa, Governor Polis signed the following bills into law in ceremony:

  • SB23-205 Universal High School Scholarship Program -  Representatives Matthew Martinez and Don Wilson, Senators Jeff Bridges and Paul Lundeen

  • HB23-1261 No Requirement For Selective Service Higher Education - Representatives Barbara McLachlan and Matthew Martinez, Senators Janet Buckner and Byron Pelton

  • HB23-1088 Veterans Mental Health Session Reimbursement Program - Representative Martinez and Senator Hinrichsen

Governor Polis signed the following bills into law administratively:

  • HB23-1012 Juvenile Competency To Proceed - Representative Judy Amabile and Senator Robert Rodriguez 

  • HB23-1236 Implementation Updates to Behavioral Health Administration - Representatives Mary Young and Judy Amabile, Senators Chris Kolker and Cleave Simpson

  • SB23-094 School Transportation Task Force - Senators Paul Lundeen and Rachel Zenzinger and Representatives Don Wilson and Meghan Lukens 

  • SB23-151 Sunset Health Equity Commission - Senator Rhonda Fields, Representatives Iman Jodeh and David Ortiz
