DENVER - Today, the Colorado General Assembly adjourned its 2025 Special Legislative Session, which Governor Polis called for in order to fix the billion-dollar budget created by President Trump and H.R. 1, which was backed by Congressman Evans, Congressman Hurd, Congresswoman Boebert and Congressman Crank and opposed by Senator Bennet, Senator Hickenlooper, Congresswoman DeGette, Congressman Neguse, Congressman Crow and Congresswoman Pettersen.

Governor Polis applauds legislators for their hard work and partnership in supporting Coloradans families

PUEBLO - Today, Governor Polis attended the 153rd Colorado State Fair, meeting with farmers and ranchers from across the state, celebrating Colorado's strong agricultural sector, and showcasing everything that makes Colorado the best place to live, work, and play. 

PUEBLO - Today, Governor Polis called for Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter to resign immediately after gross misconduct was revealed by an inspection by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies earlier this week. The Governor also declared a disaster emergency to mobilize state resources to respond to the incident, and protect public health and safety.

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed Justin P. Fay to the 6th Judicial District Court. This vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Suzanne F. Carlson and is effective October 1, 2025. 

DENVER - Today, findings from an analysis done by the Pew Charitable Trust found that not allowing for more homes to be built pushes up rent prices across the board and increases hardships on low-income residents and neighborhoods.

MESA COUNTY - Today, Governor Polis is in Mesa County to visit Grand Junction and Palisade. The Governor visited the Incident Command Post for the Turner Gulch fire. He was briefed on containment efforts and thanked the first responders and emergency personnel for their work to protect Coloradans and communities. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Jared Polis signed an Executive Order declaring a disaster emergency in Colorado due to critical fire weather conditions and record-level fire indices that are fueling multiple fires and continued fire risk across Colorado to further support the state’s early attack on new fire starts. 

DENVER - Today, Governor Polis took Executive action to update and supplement previous executive action to build more housing now. In May, Governor Polis took initial executive action to increase housing supply and break down barriers to more housing people can afford.
