PUBLIC NOTICE: NOTICE REGARDING TIMBERLINE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT NOVEMBER 6, 2018 SPECIAL ELECTION
TO ALL TIMBERLINE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT ELECTORS, this notice is to correct misinformation being provided regarding the special election being conducted on behalf of the Timberline Fire Protection District (“District”) on November 6, 2018.
This Election is being conducted pursuant to and in compliance with Title 1, Article 13.5 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, also known as the Colorado Local Government Election Code, and Section 20(3) of Article X of the Colorado Constitution, also known as TABOR. This Election is an independent mail ballot election and is not being conducted in coordination with the Gilpin County Clerk and Recorder or the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder.
Only the official voting instructions being issued by the District or Micki Mills, the Designated Election Official appointed to conduct the Election on behalf of the District, should be considered when voting or returning your voted District ballot. No other instructions regarding the District’s election should be considered official or correct.
DO NOT RETURN THE DISTRICT BALLOT TO THE GILPIN COUNTY CLERK OR THE BOULDER COUNTY CLERK. DO NOT PLACE A DISTRICT VOTED BALLOT IN A COUNTY DROP BOX. DO NOT RETURN YOUR VOTED BALLOT IN ANY OTHER ENVELOPE THAN THE ONE PROVIDED WITH YOUR DISTRICT BALLOT. DO NOT PUT MORE THAN ONE BALLOT IN YOUR RETURN ENVELOPE. MAKE SURE YOU SIGN THE VOTER AFFIDAVIT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE RETURN ENVELOPE.
FOR YOUR BALLOT TO BE COUNTED, it must be delivered or mailed to the Timberline Fire Station No. 7, 660 Highway 46, Black Hawk, Colorado 80422, and received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. This location shall be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, beginning October 15, 2018, and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the election (November 2, 2018) and from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots received after 7:00 p.m. on Election Day will not be counted. Postmarks do not count. Placing the District’s ballot in a County drop box by 7:00 p.m. does not count.
