Municipal Attorney - Accepting Letters of Interest
The City of Walsenburg, a Statutory City, is accepting Letters of Intent for the position of MUNICIPAL ATTORNEY. The appointment term commences January 1, 2020 and terminates at midnight December 31, 2022. Letters of Intent may be delivered to the office of the City Clerk, 525 South Albert Avenue, Walsenburg, Colorado 81089. The telephone number is 719-695-1031.
Applicants must be licensed to practice in the State of Colorado and in good standing with the Colorado Supreme Court.
Letters of intent must include a biography, relevant municipal law experience, representative municipal clients and pay requirements.
The Municipal Attorney is an independent contractor who represents the City of Walsenburg and provides general legal services and counsel to the Mayor, City Council, City Administrator and Department Heads as requested.
Attendance at City Council meetings, held the first and third Tuesday of each month commencing at 6:00 p.m., is generally required. In addition, attendance at other special meetings, work sessions, city committee/board meetings may be required.
Letters of Interest must be received at the office of the City Clerk, 525 S. Albert Avenue, Walsenburg, Colorado 81089 no later than 2:00 p.m. on November 26, 2019 after which the City Council may schedule interviews in its sole discretion. The City reserves the right to reject any or all Letters of Intent.
