City’s Spray Program for Mosquitos
At their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 6th, City Council made the decision to continue with the City’s spray program for mosquitos and directed staff to implement interim strategies to accomplish spraying throughout the City for the remainder of the 2019 season.
Prior to spraying, however, the City wishes to encourage citizens to contact City Hall if they wish to be place on the official “no spray” list due to concerns such as the residual effects spraying may have on a localized bee population or the maintaining of an “organic” garden plot or even health concerns, even though the chemicals that the City intends to use are considered safe when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Those wishing to be added to the list, should contact City Hall at (719) 738-1240 prior to August 23, 2019.
Spraying is scheduled to commence on August 26, 2019.
