The City of Walsenburg has adopted comprehensive land use and building regulations including:
Anyone who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a building or structure shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit.
All Commercial Construction must have a building permit and a licensed contractor.
All Residential Construction must have a building permit and a licensed contractor unless the home owner is personally doing the work.
All building foundations larger than 250 square feet are required to be engineered and wet stamped by a colorado registered professional engineer or architect.
Building Permits and changes in land use can be obtained by filing the proper application and paying the appropriate fees to the City.
