Valley Sanitation District's Ballot Issue #4A Passes With Significant Community Support

The Board of the Valley Sanitation District would like to thank all those registered voters who supported the District's ballot issue during last week's coordinated election. The ballot question passed with 67% of the community's support.

This means that you've authorized the District to take on a very low interest loan from the Colorado Water Resources & Power Development Authority to fix the deteriorating interceptor sewer line. Your property taxes will be raised as a result, in the approximate amount of $12 per year per $100,000 in home value beginning in 2019.

The next step in the process is for the District to contract with an engineering consultant to perform the final design of this project. A preliminary selection has been made and contract negotiations are in progress.

Stay tuned for more project updates as we move forward towards a safer and more resilient wastewater collection system for your community.
