The Town Treasurer is responsible for all the financial matters of the Town utilizing governmental financial software to manage and document all accounting matters. The Town Treasurer is responsible for overseeing all accounting of Receivables, Payables, Payroll and the General Ledger.
Lisa Piering is the Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Rangely. Born and raised in Rangely, Lisa graduated from Rangely High School and received an Associate Degree in applied science from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colo. She and her husband, a Rangely native as well, have two daughters.
After graduating from college, Lisa moved back to Rangely and started working for Colorado Well Service, which became Key Energy Services. She had various accounting positions, eventually becoming the Business Manager and Treasurer. In 2006 she came to the Town of Rangely as the Treasurer, and became the Town Clerk in 2012. Her background includes all phases of accounting, payroll and human resources.
Lisa’s service to the Town of Rangely did not start with her employment. She has served on the Rangely School Board, Rangely School Foundation Board, Rangely Hurricane’s, Rangely Soccer Association, and is currently the president of the Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce and treasurer for the Rio Blanco Schools Federal Credit Union and the Dinosaur Diamond Scenic Byway.
