Alamosa County's Whoville-inspired float won 1st place at the 2017 Christmas Lights Parade on December 23, 2017. There were 37 floats entered in this year's competition and it was the first win for Alamosa County. The event is sponsored by the Alamosa Round-UP and is in its seventh year. Alamosa County was awarded a 1st Place belt buckle and is the only float allowed to have a live Santa at next year's parade. Read more at Alamosa News.
