The Public Information office, located in the Town Administrator's Office, is the primary source of all official forms of public information. The Public Information Officer creates, compiles and coordinates the development of informational literature such as news releases, brochures, flyers, newsletters and advertising. The Public Information Officer also serves as the Town's webmaster and oversees cable channel 12 as well as the Town's social media channels. The Public Information Office also is responsible for generating publicity materials and news coverage of events sponsored by Town government.
Stay in touch with Town government
The Town of Estes Park provides many options for community members to stay in touch with local government. Public Information Officer Kate Rusch says, "Even when you're out of town, there are many convenient ways to access Town information and communicate with us." Among them are email updates, social media, the Town's website, a cable access channel, radio station 1470 AM, and both casual and formal Town meetings.
Hundreds of Estes Park citizens already receive Town of Estes Park news releases and important community updates by email subscription. News covers topics ranging from current projects and community service programs, to updates in the event of an emergency. Citizens may also subscribe to a separate email list to receive Town Board meeting agendas from the Town Clerk’s office, or Planning Commission information from the Community Development Department. This is an easy way to follow important issues and discussions.
Attending Town meetings is one of the best ways to follow Town processes, projects and programs. Have a casual dialogue with the Mayor and Trustees at the monthly Mayor’s Coffee-Chats. These meetings generally take place during the first week of each month, with varied dates, times, and locations throughout Estes Park. Town Board meetings are scheduled the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m. in the Town Board Room of Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Avenue. For a complete schedule of Town meetings, agendas and minutes, visit www.estes.org/boardsandmeetings. Official Town meetings can also be streamed live or watched after-the-fact at www.estes.org/videos. Local cable television subscribers can view Town meetings live on channel 12.
