Ballot Issue 1A funds at work

The Town’s Public Works Department began reconstruction/rehabilitation of MacGregor Avenue the first week of May, 2017. The Town Board approved a contract with Mountain Constructors, Inc. including a two-month construction schedule from May through June.

MacGregor Avenue Road reconstruction began at the intersection with Wonderview Avenue and continues north for approximately ½ mile.

The MacGregor Avenue Road Improvement project includes the following improvements:

  • Two-lane roadway reconstruction;
  • An eight foot pedestrian walk/trail on the east side of MacGregor Avenue;
  • Improvements to the intersection with Wonderview Avenue for increased pedestrian safety including pedestrian activated rapid flash beacons, raised concrete islands, trimming of trees;
  • Drainage improvements.

The contracted construction cost of the complete project is approximately $1.35 million, which includes road repair, drainage improvements, and trail construction. Funding is being provided by the Town’s Street Improvement Fund, the Town’s Trail Expansion Fund (both Ballot Issue 1A funds) and the Larimer County Open Space Fund. One lane will be open to northbound traffic for the duration of the project with periodic full road closures not to exceed ten days. Plans are available for review to the public.
