Revenue & Expenses

Residents receive services from three separately funded independent and cooperative entities:

  • Town of Bow Mar
  • Bow Mar Water & Sanitation District
  • Bow Mar Owners, Inc. (BMOI)

Property taxes paid to Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties are distributed to support the government of the Town of Bow Mar (Board of Trustees) and water and sewer service through Bow Mar Water & Sanitation District. BMOI is funded through dues paid by residents directly to the organization.

The Town of Bow Mar receives about one-eighth of the property taxes collected by the respective counties.  Bow Mar Water & Sanitation District receives a slightly larger portion of your tax dollars.

Schools are the recipents of the greatest portion of property taxes. This chart explains how property taxes are used and provides detail about how the Town of Bow Mar allocates revenues.

The Board of Trustees passed the 2016 budget after a Public Hearing held during the regular December, 2015 Town Meeting.
