Goose Pasture Tarn Dam Repair

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS

OCTOBER 22, 2019

The Town of Breckenridge is holding two public meetings to present the planned rehabilitation of Goose Pasture Tarn Dam, located on the Blue River and in the Town of Blue River approximately two miles south of the Town of Breckenridge.  Construction to rehabilitate the dam is planned to start in May 2020 and be completed by the fall of 2022.  The rehabilitation, which primarily includes replacement of two existing spillways with a single larger spillway, is intended to improve the safety and long-term operation of the dam.

The first meeting will be held to inform immediate residents surrounding the dam and reservoir with details regarding the need for dam rehabilitation, the planned construction, the estimated construction schedule, and changes in reservoir operating levels that will be necessary for construction.  The second meeting will be held to address downstream safety concerns for Breckenridge residences in addition to the above-described discussion.  Members of the Town of Breckenridge and the rehabilitation design team will be on hand to answer questions at the first meeting in Blue River.  They will be joined by Colorado Dam Safety, Denver Water, and Summit County for the second meeting in Breckenridge.  Information on the two meetings are presented below:
