How to Obtain Records

The Records Department is open 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Tuesday-Friday except on Town Holidays.  Reports cannot always be released per federal and state regulations and guidelines, and it may take up to three working days to process your request.

A Request for Public Records form must also be completed prior to receiving the report.  You can print the form and email it to info@townofblueriver.org; mail it: PO Box 1784, Breckenridge, CO 80424 or bring it to Town Hall, 0110 Whispering Pines Circle, Blue River, CO 80424.


Lost & Found Property

Property that had been found by another citizen and turned into the Blue River Marshal's Office, will be kept for a period of 90 days.  If no one claims the found property within this time frame, the Blue River Marshal Office will place an advertisement in the local newspapers, declaring the list of items to be disposed of it they are not claimed b their rightful owners.  If no one claims the property, then it will be disposed of by the Blue River Mashal Office.

Retrieve Property

If you have had property taken as evidence, the Blue River Marshal Office must retain that item(s) as evidence until the case has been disposed of, nd the District Attorney's Office authorizes the release or destruction of that evidence/property.  The Blue River Marshal Office will attempt to contact the owner of property to be released at the last known address or phone number for return.  If we are unable to contact the known owner, then that property will be destroyed or otherwise disposed of.

Claiming & Picking Up Property

If you have been contacted by the Blue River Marshal and need to claim your property, please call first to make an appointment.  The Evidence Custodian is the only authorized personnel to release property.  To make an appointment, call 970-547-0545 or email marshall@townofblueriver.org.
