Wear Blue Day - Friday February 2, 2018

The Adams County Board of County Commissioners will be proclaiming Wear Blue Day on Friday, February 2nd in honor of Deputy Heath Gumm. The Town of Bennett is encouraging staff and residents to participate to show their respect and gratitude for all the men and women of law enforcement.

Whereas, all citizens owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the men and women of law enforcement who selflessly serve to protect our lives and keep our families safe; and,

Whereas, every day, these men and women face great risks and in many cases put their lives on the line to perform their duties; and,

Whereas, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 31-year-old Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm was killed in the line of duty; and,

Whereas, throughout his career in law enforcement, Deputy Gumm represented the Adams County Sheriff’s Department admirably and will always be remembered for the countless lives he impacted; and,

Whereas, a funeral service for Deputy Gumm will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette at 11:00 a.m.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved That, that the Adams County Board of Commissioners does hereby proclaim Friday, February 2, 2018 as “Wear Blue Day,” in honor and remembrance of Adams County Deputy Heath Gumm whose selfless service and sacrifice is an inspiration to the residents of Adams County. In witness whereof, we have set our hands and caused the seal of the county to be affixed on January 30, 2018.
