The lid should latch, and to reopen, squeeze the buttons below the lid.

The cart lids are designed to open when dumped into the trucks, so no need to lock lids open on trash day.

Paint Care

Paint Care is a program that allows users to drop off old unneeded paints at select locations at no cost.  It is funded through the “Paint Care Fee” which is added to the purchase price of paint sold within the state.  Additional fees can range from $0.35 to $1.60, depending on the size of the paint can.  Adding the fees onto paint purchases allows programs for paint collection, transportation, recycling, public outreach, and management of old paint to be free of cost at the time of recycling.

You are able to drop off household paints for interior and exterior uses, deck coatings, and primers among other things.  You can view a full list of what paints are eligible to be dropped off here:
https://www.paintcare.org/products-we-accept/#/what-products-are-covered

There is a drop off location in Bayfield at Lewis True Value Mercantile, 311 Bayfield Center Drive.  You can locate the drop off site closest to you here:
