Consumer Advisory: Public hearings scheduled for Xcel Energy’s request to increase natural gas service

The Office of Consumer Counsel advises consumers of their right to be heard at upcoming public comment hearings

DENVER (Sept. 19, 2017) --  The Colorado Office of Consumer Counsel (OCC), which advises and advocates on behalf of consumers regarding state-regulated utility costs, previously advised consumers in early July to be aware of Xcel’s request to increase prices to its natural gas consumers in a collective amount of about $139 million over a three-year period starting on January 1, 2018. The Administrative Law Judge (“ALJ”) assigned to preside over this proceeding has scheduled three public hearings. While the Public Utility Commission provides official notification of its hearings, as a courtesy reminder the OCC encourages Xcel gas customers to attend public hearings and provide oral comments to the ALJ.
