The Town of South Fork employs seven full time employees, including the police chief and one full time police officer. In addition, and one part-time employee. The human resources department assists in the hiring of employees, benefit administration and safety policy compliance. Full time employees are provided with health, dental, vision and life insurance. Employees are eligible to join the pre-tax Aflac plan, but premiums are the employee’s responsibility. Retirement is provided to full time employees through CCOERA, and to full-time police officers through FPPA.

Position Title: Police Officer
This job description applies to full time employees.
Supervision Received: Works under the authority and direction of the police chief.
Supervision Exercised: None.
FLSA Classification: FLSA covered. This position is subject to overtime provisions.
Overall Job Objective: Protect the lives, safety, health, welfare, and property of individuals within the south fork town limits by enforcing municipal, state, and federal statutes, ordinances, and laws.
Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent, Colorado Post Certified.
Applicants must be willing to undergo a Written Test, an Oral Board, Psychological Evaluation, Background Investigation, Drug Testing and Physical.
Pay for Full Time Police Officer is $16.00 per hour. Benefits for full time employees. Employee insurance dental, medical, and vision provide at no charge to the employee only. FPPA retirement for full time officers. Training is a priority for all South Fork Police Department employees.
