Help Contain the Spread of COVID-19!
The State of Colorado, local public health authorities, and national service programs are partnering to build a statewide corps of contact tracers to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) as the state gradually reopens. At the heart of this effort is a robust force of trained contact tracers who will offer support and information to individuals who have been exposed to the virus. This vital corps of “disease detectives” will identify sources of potential outbreaks and deliver the information and support Coloradans need to stay safe and healthy. Read the press release here.

RSVP Contract Tracers will call all contacts of anyone diagnosed with COVID-19, determine exposure, assess symptoms, refer for testing according to established protocols, and provide instructions for isolation or quarantine, as needed. Senior Corps RSVP volunteers will serve through either Cultivate or Volunteers of America Colorado, and will be supervised by a local health department in Colorado. RSVP Contact Tracers will volunteer 6 to 20 hours a week and will commit to volunteering for at least 8 weeks after training. RSVP Contact Tracers will begin in Mid-August.
AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) is a full-time, 10-month national service program. Usually, members must be between the ages of 18 and 24 years old when starting the program, but the CARES Act extends the upper age limit to 26 in response to COVID-19. AmeriCorps NCCC members receive training, serve as part of a team, and typically complete between three and six different service projects for different organizations in different locations throughout their assigned region of the United States. You may assist with COVID-19 related recovery projects or your team could be assigned to meet other critical needs in the nation. For more information, visit the AmeriCorps NCCC website, application site, or COVID-19 FAQ page.
