Colorado Retail Sales and Sales Tax Summaries

Colorado Retail Sales and Sales Tax information are summarized in the following reports.  Self-reported retail sales tax information are submitted via the Colorado Retail Sales Tax Return (Form DR 0100).  The published reports are derived from returns which reflect taxes for sales made during a filing period (month, quarter, or annual).  Taxes for the filing period are collected the month following the close of the reporting period.  For example, taxes incurred in January are collected in February.  County level reports are available in aggregate at the monthly level while city level reports are available quarterly.  

The Department of Revenue categorizes businesses using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). "Industry Category" is the standard used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy. All industry categories are reported to the Department of Revenue by the taxpayer at the time of initial account registration.
