In January, 2015 the new Community Park and Center was opened! It features a 4,600sf community center which houses the Purgatory Metropolitan District offices, public restrooms, multi-purpose great room, wood burning fireplace, outside deck and garage space. The new center compliments the park grounds completed in the Fall of 2014. The park includes extensive trails, picnic tables, picnic benches, playground equipment, a lake stocked with rainbow trout and open space. In the winter months the Durango Nordic club offers nordic skiing and snow shoeing out of the facility and in the summer Durango Board and Boat offers boat rentals and fishing lessons. Continue checking in with us for updates about events and future imrovements. In the Mean time please come and visit the community park and center and enjoy. The center is located approximately 1/4 mile north of the main entrance to Purgatory Resort on the east side of Highway 550. The community center can be reserved for events by contacting Eric Hassel at firstname.lastname@example.org. Fishing in the park is catch and release only, plese practice responsible fishing by using barbless hooks and signle hook lures.
