Grant Program Application and Guidelines

In order to be considered for funding, applicants must submit an application via the POST grant management database between March 1 and Aoril 15th. Entities that have received previous funding from POST have continual access to the database. New applicants can register here. Once registered, you will receive logon information for your agency.

Along with the grant application, POST-designated Training Regions shall conduct and submit a needs assessment of the area or Region served that contains an executive summary, including key findings and priorities and a description of the needs assessment process. Eligible Recipient Agencies

Regional Grant Program:  Eligible applicants must be a local government, college, university, or not-for-profit for the purpose of funding peace officer training programs to law enforcement agencies throughout the state.

In-Service Grant Program:   Eligible applicants are law enforcement agencies.

Eligible use of funds includes: training, training equipment, training supplies, backfill and travel costs for both student and instructor. Program delivery and grant administrative funds are also available.

Grants are not provided to individuals.

Funding Application

The POST Regional grant program year begins July 1st and ends June 30th.  The In-Service grant program year begins July 1st and ends March 31st.  In order to be considered for funding for a given program year, applicants must submit an application via the POST grant management database. Applications are due March 31st each year. For FY-21 the application has been extended through April 15th. For new grant applicants, click here to access the POST grant system.
