TOWN OF PITKIN COVID-19 RESPONSE
UPDATED 3/16/2020: Gunnsion County Health and Human Services has amended its public health order, which still stands until March 8th, 2020. Gatherings of 10 individuals or more (including employees and attendees) are prohibited. Gatherings of fewer than ten (10) individuals are permitted with restrictions: high risk individuals (age 60 and over, those with underlying health conditions) are NOT PERMITTED to attend, social distancing recommendations (minimum of 6 ft. of separation) must be met, employees must be screened daily for symptoms and excluded if symptoms are present, property hand hygiene and sanitation must be readily available for all attendees, and environmental cleaning guidelines from the CDC must be met. In order to cooperate with the Gunnison County Public Health order and to best protect the health and safety of those in our community, all Town of Pitkin public meetings are postponed until further notice.

2020 Regular Municipal Election
IN RESPONSE TO GUNNISON COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER AND TO BEST PROTECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR CONSTITUENTS AND ELECTION WORKERS, REGISTERED VOTERS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO VOTE ABSENTEE IN THE UPCOMING ELECTION.
In order to receive an absentee ballot, an absentee ballot application must be completed and returned to the Town Clerk. Absentee ballot applications may be obtained by calling the Town of Pitkin Clerk at (970)787-0031 or by emailing email@example.com. Absentee ballot applications must be retured to the Town Clerk no later than Friday, April 3rd.
In order to comply with statutory requirements, the polling place for the Town of Pitkin will remain open on election day. The recommended restrictions required by the County of Gunnison Public Health Order will to followed, including: screening of employees, social distancing, availability of hand-washing and sanitizing products, exclusion of high-risk participants. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE VOTERS, who will be allowed to vote in person while practicing social distancing. However, to reduce risk, absentee voting is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for all voters, espcially those who fall into the high-risk category.
The Town of Pitkin Regular Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 7th 2020 at the Newcomb Community Center. One Mayor and six trustees will be elected. Two TABOR issues and one additional question will be on the ballot. Contact the Town Clerk if you would like to view a sample ballot.

Tuesday, April 7th - Election day - Polling Place open 7am-7pm - DUE TO COVID-19, ABSENTEE VOTING IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
