Morgan County's Early Warning Alert SystemMorgan County early warning alert system, hyper-reach, sends emergency notifications by phone, email and text to keep community members and subscribers informed of events such as evacuation notices, utility outages, water main breaks, floods and hazardous materials spills.
The Morgan County Communications Center is the regional 9-1-1 dispatch center that provides emergency communication services to all of Morgan County, Colorado. The dispatch facility is located in Fort Morgan. They are responsible for answering emergency 9-1-1 calls and dispatching the appropriate public safety resources to the emergency scene. They are also responsible for radio and other communications for most public safety departments in Morgan County.
Fully trained dispatchers maintain certifications in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). In addition, dispatchers continue to improve skills and knowledge at industry specific classes and conferences once they are out of training.
Partner agencies of the Communications Center include the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Morgan Police Department, Brush Police Department, Wiggins Police Department, Log Lane Village Police Department and the Morgan County Ambulance Service, as well as the Fort Morgan Volunteer Fire Department, Brush Volunteer Fire Department, Hillrose-Snyder Volunteer Fire Department and the Wiggins Volunteer Fire Department.
E911 System Upgrade
The Communications Center is currently working on an upgrade to the 911 telephone system. This upgrade will provide additional connectivity options to the public to be able to access the 911 system other than through a voice call. More information will be posted as this project moves forward.
