Chief Operating Officer

Lt. Governor Lynne also serves as the state's Chief Operating Officer (COO). The Governor asked Lt. Governor Lynne to play this dual role to continue his focus on good government, recognizing that virtually all private sector companies with a budget the size of Colorado's have a COO.

As COO, she works closely with the Governor and Cabinet to drive better performance, accountability and transparency throughout state government operations. In particular, the COO focuses on customer service, and Lt. Governor Lynne began her tenure with a statewide tour to see many of the places where state government is serving the public today.
The COO will also work closely with the Director of the Office of State Planning and Budgeting (OSPB) on a few major efforts. They will work to ensure each Department complies with the requirements and spirit of the State Measurement for Accountable, Responsive and Transparent Government (SMART) Act, that the State maintains a robust Lean process improvement program and that broader performance management efforts are implemented successfully.
