The Kit Carson County Sheriff's Office currently has a full time Detentions Deputy opening. Applicants must be 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen or possess an appropriate work visa. High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver license. Must be able to work all shifts, which includes days, nights and weekends. Must pass a back ground check and drug/alcohol testing.  Job is open until filled.  KCC is an EOE.

The Kit Carson County Sheriff’s Office does NOT have any other current openings, however we are always accepting applications for every department (Patrol Deputy, Dispatch and Detentions Deputy). Kit Carson County Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking an individual to join our finance team as a Finance Generalist.   Primary duties will include general bookkeeping, third party billing and data entry.  High School Diploma/GED required.  Bilingual skills a plus.  On the job training will be provided.  Applicants must have a current Colorado driver’s license, must pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing.  Applications may be found online at https://www.colorado.gov/kitcarsoncounty  or picked up at 252 South 14th Street, Burlington, Colorado.  EOE.


The Kit Carson County Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking a full-time registered nurse.  The position will include general public health nursing as well as home visitation for moms and babies.  Experience in maternal child health is beneficial, but not required.  Travel within the county and immediate surrounding area is required.  Applicants must have a current Colorado driver’s license, must pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing. Full-time Options for Long Term Care Case Manager. Must have a Bachelor's degree in one of the human behavioral science fields such as human services, social work, psychology, etc. In conjunction with education, experience as a case manager with the long term care client population, in a private or public social services agency may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.  Functions include travel throughout Cheyenne, Lincoln and Kit Carson Counties, information and referral, assessments, development of care plans and on-going case management. Kit Carson County Ambulance Service provides services as needed to eastern Kit Carson County and transports to the Denver Metro area. These positions are on call positions and considered part time. Call hours are flexible and paid per event plus paid on-call time and annual bonus available. Other compensation includes uniforms, continuing education training, and opportunity to provide an essential and valuable service to the local community.
