Notice of Rulemaking: Proposed Access to Records Rules
The Independent Ethics Commission issues this notice of rulemaking to adopt proposed Access to Records Rules. The proposed rules may be accessed through this link. The purpose of the proposed rules is to provide the public with reasonable access to the Commission’s documents while protecting the privacy interests of parties and persons.
The Commission is authorized to adopt such reasonable rules as may be necessary for the purpose of administering and enforcing the provisions of Article XXIX of the Colorado Constitution. Colo. Const. art. XXIX, § 5(1)
The Commission invites written public comment on the proposed rules. Any person interested in filing written comments may do so by emailing comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. Written comments may also be mailed to the Independent Ethics Commission, 1300 Broadway, Suite 240, Denver, CO 80203. Written comments must be received no later than January 31, 2018.
The Commission will consider any timely filed written comments at its meeting scheduled for February 12, 2018. The Commission may, at that time and in its discretion, authorize limited oral public comments from persons who have filed written comments. The Commission's meeting will be held at 1300 Broadway, Denver, Colorado, in the Supreme Court Courtroom, at 9:00 a.m. Persons interested in attending the rulemaking deliberation are encouraged to monitor the posting of the Commission's meeting agenda, which will be posted on the Commission's 2018 Agendas web page. The Commission may order additional meetings to consider the proposed rules.
