Recreation - Campground & Boatdock

The campground is closed for the 2017 season. It will reopen in May, 2018.
Located on the east side of Lake San Cristobal, this county-owned public campground features 31 sites with excellent views of the lake. Various site lengths will accommodate ADA campsites, RV's and/or tents. Sites are available on the lake or on the cliffs above. Our campground hosts Tinker & Dave Bell have information available about the campground and Hinsdale County. If you have special needs, please don't hesitate to share with the host to better accommodate your stay.
We do not accept reservations.
Day use permitted. Public fishing access to the lake. Water, trash removal, vault toilets, picnic tables, grills and fire gates. No electricity. Please refrain from building additional fire rings. Rates: $15.00 per night. RV Dump Located At Campground; Dump Fee: $10.
Hinsdale County Boat Dock
Hinsdale County maintains a boat dock on the west side of Lake San Cristobal that is open for public use when launching or removing boats from the lake.The dock has seven slips available for overnight boat docking. Slips are available for $550 for a season and $125 per month. Slips are very limited and are available on a first-come, first serve basis starting on January 1. Most are reserved early in the year. One overnight slip is available for $8 per day. Kayak slips are also available for $75 for the season or $20 per month. To reserve a slip, call the Hinsdale County Administration Office at 970-944-2225. Proof of insurance for all watercraft is required and every watercraft is expected to be registered.
There is a free fishing pier at the boat dock!
