In July 2013, Colorado was chosen to participate in the National Governor's Association's Policy Academy for Super-Utilizers. This one-year program is exploring new ways to work with clients who use an unreasonable share of health care services. A large group of stakeholders, many of whom have experience working with these clients, meets monthly to discuss potential solutions to this issue. Two pilot projects have been implemented within the ACC program. Projects are related to reducing unnecessary use of emergency department services by Medicaid clients in RCCO 4 and RCCO 7. Find these RCCOs on our map.
