Purpose of Meeting: The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing has been awarded federal funding under the Maternal Opioid Misuse (MOM) Model and will be using the first grant year (2020) to develop the details of the delivery model. The goal of the grant will be to improve the quality of care and reduce expenditures for pregnant and postpartum women with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) as well as their infants. The Department aims to achieve this by competitively awarding regional practice transformation grants that will better integrate opioid use treatment and obstetric services, and by providing technical assistance to participating practices.
The Department hosted a kickoff meeting on March 20, 2020 to introduce the details of the model and solicit feedback on a menu of evidence-based interventions and the competitive selection process.
