Notice To Families Who Applied For Health Coverage
THIS NOTICE IS FOR FAMILIES WHO PREVIOUSLY APPLIED FOR HEALTH COVERAGE AND WHOSE CHILDREN RECEIVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS, including Social Security disability income, survivors’ benefits, or retirement income (types of payments under Title II of the Social Security Act) or equivalent Railroad Retirement Benefits:
- If you applied for Medicaid or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) before March 1, 2015 and were rejected, You May Qualify if you reapply now.
- If you applied for financial assistance through the state exchange, Connect for Health Colorado, before March 1, 2015, You May Qualify for more assistance if you reapply during Open Enrollment, November 1, 2015 through January 31, 2016.
Your application for these forms of financial assistance may have been impacted by a problem in our eligibility determination related to how your household income was calculated. We have fixed the problem and encourage you to reapply for Medicaid or CHP+ to see if you now qualify.
If you applied for Medicaid, CHP+, or for federal premium assistance after March 1, 2015, your household income was correctly calculated.
