Parks and Recreation

The City of Florence owns and maintains several city parks; including our principal downtown activity space Pioneer Park as well as Florence River Park (located just east of Florence proper), and Florence Mountain Park, south of the city limits. The City of Florence does not have a separate Recreation or Parks Department and most facilities are maintained by the staff from Public Works.

To reserve the amphitheater at Pioneer Park, fields at Wilcox Park, or space at Florence Mountain Park for an event call City Hall 719-784-4848.

The City does have a Parks and Recreation Committee working on numerous new initiatives to strengthen our recreational amenities. If you are interested in participating, please call Wade Broadhead, Planning Director at 719-784-4848 x227.

Please see Municipal Codes, Chapter 12.24, in section bar for complete information on park regulations.

The City of Florence has many fine parks to enjoy. Parks are open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm, unless noted otherwise below.
