Estes Valley Recreation and Park District is forming travel basketball teams for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades in the Northern Valley Athletic Association. There are separate boys and girls teams. Divisions will be combined if there are not enough players in one age group.
Practices: Teams will practice twice a week starting in November and play Saturday games starting in December.Games: There are six regular season games and an end of season tournament. Traveling is required; games will be played down in the Front Range and a couple of the games will be hosted in Estes Park.Registration Dates: Monday, September 19 through Monday, October 17. **There is NO online registration for this program. The Recreation Basketball program emphasizes FUN and DEVELOPMENT physically, psychologically, and socially. The EVRPD is excited to announce it has teamed up with the Junior Nuggets! Each participant will receive two tickets to a Denver Nuggets game and a reversible Junior Nuggets jersey! Teams are formed using volunteer coaches. Each team (except Junior Jammers) practices two days a week and plays on Saturday mornings. If you are interested in coaching please contact us.

Practice Dates: All practices are either *Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday at the Elementary School Gym. Practice days will be based on coach availability. *(On any NO Elementary School Mondays, those teams will practice Wednesday/Friday of that particular week).
Game Dates: Saturday Mornings (2017): 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11, 3/18
Roster Limits: *Rosters will be limited. Junior Jammers: 40 participants. Miners/Prospectors/Gold: four team max with eight player min/10 player max per roster. *A minimum of 16 players in a division must be registered on the final day of early registration to ensure two teams. If there is not a minimum of 16 players, 6th graders may be combined with the 4th-5th grade teams.
Coaches: The EVRPD utilizes volunteer coaches. If you are able and interested in coaching, we will waive your child’s registration fee (head coaches only, one child only), you will receive one free team photo, a coaches hoodie, and an EVRPD coffee tumbler. Please contact the EVRPD for more information on becoming a youth sports coach and to attend the coaches meeting on Wednesday, February 1, 6pm at the Recreation Office at Stanley Park.
Equipment: Each player will receive a Junior Nuggets team jersey. Players should wear athletic clothing (black or navy shorts for game day) and gym shoes. Basketballs and other equipment is provided.

This Saturday morning instructional program for Kindergarten and 1st Graders is co-ed and introduces youngsters to basic basketball skills and emphasizes having FUN.

Little Hoopsters is part of the EVRPD's Little Athletes program for 3 and 4 year olds. Little Athletes is a developmental youth sports program that teaches children the very basic fundamentals of the sport in fun and engaging drills and games. 100% parent/guardian participation is required. Children practice one day a week. This program is Saturday’s only, for 6 weeks. Little Hoopsters helps develop coordination, motor skills, socialization skills, and introduces your child to playing with other young children and listening too and following instructions.
Registration Dates: 12/12/16-1/16/17Fee: $25/In-District and $30/Out of District. After January 16, there is a $10 late fee. The January 2017 Denver Nuggets Skills Challenge has been cancelled for this season.
